Program Overview:

The USF nursing program offers several different pathways to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. These include a traditional four-year BSN program, an accelerated second degree BSN program, and an RN to BSN program for licensed registered nurses who want to earn a BSN degree. In addition, USF offers a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program for nurses who want to pursue advanced practice roles, as well as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program for nurses who want to become leaders in healthcare.

The curriculum for the USF nursing program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in nursing theory and practice, as well as the critical thinking skills and clinical judgment necessary to succeed as a nurse. Students in the BSN program complete coursework in areas such as nursing fundamentals, pharmacology, health assessment, and nursing research, as well as clinical rotations in a variety of healthcare settings.

The accelerated second degree BSN program is designed for students who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field and want to earn a BSN degree in an accelerated timeframe. This program builds on students’ existing knowledge and skills, allowing them to complete the BSN program in just 12 months.

The RN to BSN program is designed for licensed registered nurses who want to earn a BSN degree to advance their careers. This program is offered online, allowing working nurses to complete their coursework on a flexible schedule.

The MSN degree program offers several different specializations, including nurse practitioner, nurse educator, and nursing leadership. Students in the MSN program complete coursework in areas such as advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, and healthcare policy, as well as clinical rotations in their chosen area of specialization.

The DNP degree program is designed for nurses who want to become leaders in healthcare and make a significant impact on patient care. The program focuses on developing advanced practice nurses who can lead change in healthcare systems and improve patient outcomes. Students in the DNP program complete coursework in areas such as healthcare leadership, population health, and healthcare informatics, as well as a capstone project.
