Is vacation a luxury ? Yes, but you can get a budget friendly vacation only if you carefully plan and be smart about it.
Do you have to break a bank before going on that vacation? The answer is NO.
These are some tips I’ve picked up to help you travel on a budget friendly vacation
WORKOUT A BUDGET
Going to that destination of your dream for vacation is cool. Vacations are a luxury and by no means a necessity.
Can you afford the trip, Is the trip actually worth it, answer these questions with your financial strength.
Get information on how much it will cost you to go to that place of your dream; transportation, accommodation, meals, local transportation, shopping etc
How much you will set aside monthly from your income is key; this way your vacation budget is built right into your monthly budget.
PATRONIZE LOCAL FOOD VENDOR
Most travellers opt for many familiar chain restaurants. They think local food is scary, right? Not at all.
It’s exciting when you stepped out of your comfort zone and try the food the locals eat.
Eating local is a unique experience, it’s incredibly cheap.
TRAVEL NON-PEAK
You will save reasonable money when you travel in non-peak seasons.
During the non-peak seasons there are fewer crowds this is an advantage.
GET FREE ACCOMMODATION IF POSSIBLE
This can save a huge amount of money. If your friend or relative lives in the city you are visiting, this can come very helpful by staying there for a short period of your vacation. Though prior notice should be given to your friend or relative.
BE FLEXIBLE WHEN FLYING
If you are not on a tight schedule, can you be flexible with the time of day you fly, the number of stops, or your seat selection?
Do you mind having a long layover? If possible, check the dates of your trip and see if the price would go down if you tweaked the dates a bit.
